Weekly Bankroll Update 1/21-1/27

This was an up and down week both on and off the virtual felt. On the same day my girlfriend's dad went into surgery, I found out I received a promotion at work. He came out of it ok thankfully, but I had to deal with a little animosity with someone at my job after my promotion was announced. This weekend we went to a comedy show and stayed overnight, but nagging back spasms from pulling water out of my flooded basement kept me from sleeping well. This was kind of the theme last week as my poker results mirrored how things were going. I was down a few dollars last week, but was able to make a $50 deposit from winnings at my home game, and I was down around 500,000 play money due to a dismal run in the Grizzly Games tourneys, but a resolution with Global Poker regarding a connection issue coupled with the 250,000 play money I got from my deposit resulted in an up week for me. Ironically, in my home game, I finished dead even. Yeah, it was that kind of week as bad news was mixed with good news. Here's where I stand after the mayhem:

Play Money: 3,692,000 Up 223,000

Real Money: $539.23 Up $47.91

Target for next MTT level: $550 ($11)

Target for next Cash Game level: $1,000 ($50)

Target for next SnG level: $1,100 ($55)

I currently sit 26th on the leaderboard after dropping 12 spots last week. It really has been a tough run so far, but I'm staying positive and will look to improve on things this week. I am very close to hitting my $550 target for an MTT bump up, and I will look to stay relatively conservative until then. We don't have a home game again until Feb. 11th due to the Super Bowl (Go PATS!!), and there are still two weeks left of Grizzly Games fun, plus school starts back up for me on Feb. 3rd. If I can stay consistent for the next few weeks, I think I can start making some changes regarding what I'm playing. The gap between $550 and $1,000 is a big one, and playing small ball won't get me there. Some shots will have to be taken in order to boost my roll. It's great to know that my home game winnings can be easily applied to my online roll, and I really believe that will make a huge difference in the weeks and months to come.
