And the winner was: Platoon. Starring Tom Berenger, Willem Dafoe, and Charlie Sheen, and directed by Oliver Stone. This film also won for Best Director (Oliver Stone), Best Sound and Best Film Editing. Platoon is a gritty violent interpretation of what it was like for foot soldiers in Vietnam.
